Transforming constitutional guarantees into lived realities for women and youth across Kenya.
Forum for Empowerment and Community Awareness (FECA) is a Kenyan NGO founded in 2019, dedicated to translating constitutional guarantees and global commitments into tangible improvements for women and youth.
We operate across 7 counties, focusing on regions with significant development challenges. Our approach combines grassroots empowerment with strategic policy engagement, ensuring that communities are not just beneficiaries but active participants in their own development.
Through our three interconnected program areas, we address systemic barriers while building sustainable solutions that respect local contexts and promote inclusive growth.

Understanding the Kenyan landscape where we operate and the systemic challenges we address
Kenya's devolved governance system has expanded local decision-making, but accountability gaps remain significant. FECA works to bridge these gaps through civic engagement and democratic participation, ensuring communities have a voice in decisions that affect their lives.
Structural inequalities disproportionately affect women and youth in Kenya. FECA addresses these through inclusive economic programs, providing access to finance, skills training, and market linkages to create sustainable livelihoods.
Harmful cultural practices and social norms continue to challenge progress in many communities. FECA promotes human rights awareness and works to eliminate practices like FGM and child marriage through community education and empowerment.
Climate change impacts livelihoods across Kenya, particularly in vulnerable regions. FECA's resilience programs focus on sustainable solutions, helping communities adapt to climate challenges while protecting their environments.
FECA addresses these interconnected challenges through integrated programming that combines immediate community needs with long-term systemic change, ensuring sustainable impact across all our intervention areas.
Whether you're an individual, organization, or institution, there are many ways to support our mission of building peaceful, empowered communities. Join us in creating lasting change.
